Evert was born in 1650 in Heusden (NL) and his baptism took place there on January 11th, 1650.1  Evert's father was Jan Ariaen Willemszn Baaijens and his mother was Margarita van Hijsselt.  His paternal grandparents were Ariaen Willemszn Baaijens and Maijken Jansdr van Buren. He had five brothers named Henricus, Peter, Jan Janszn, Cornelis Janszn and Henricus.  He was the youngest of the six children.
