Fijken was born in 1727 in Rossum and her baptism took place there on March 2nd, 1727.1  Fijken's father is Adriaan van Avezaat and her mother is Jenneke Cornelisdr de Vries.  Her maternal grandparents are Cornelis Davids de Vries and Jenneke Jans van Heukelom. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Geerit, Gerrit, Cornelis, Bertije, Beertijen, Elisabeth, Johanna, Geertruij and Cornelia.  She is the nineth oldest of the ten children.
