Arien was born in 1720 and his baptism took place on June 9th, 1720 in Haaften.1   His godmother was/is Maijke Aldens. Arien's father was Teunis Handrikszn Aldens and his mother is Meriken Jansdr Pippel.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrick Dirckszn Aldens and N.N. N.N.. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Jan, Handrick, Dirck, Geijsbert, Aeldert, Gijsbert, Catharijn Teunisdr and Metje.  He is the youngest of the nine children.
