Jannetje was born on October 17th, 1830 in Hoogeveen in Rijnland.1  Jannetje's father was Jacob van Aalst and her mother was Jacoba Slootweg. She had a brother named Arij.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died at the age of 43 on June 21st, 1874 in Zegwaart (Zoetermeer).1
