Manharlal's father was Maganlal Harakchand and his mother is Vassantra Givandas.  His paternal grandparents were Harakhchand Narsim [Aracchande Narcim] and Panibai [Panim Bai]. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Mahendralal, Vinodrai, Tarulata and Hasvanti bai. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Jentilal, Ramniclal, Indumati and Chandrakala.
