Saroj's father is Tulcidas Jechand and her mother is Venibai.  Her paternal grandparents are Jechand Valji [Gechant Valgi] and Jassoda bai. She has two brothers and three sisters, named Harakhchand, Mathuradas, Hiragauri, Mukta [Muctabai] and Kamla. She has two half-sisters named Madhu and Mahalaxmi.
