- Was held at the Baptist Minister's Parsonage at 8PM. Fred and Sara were going to get married on May 10th but on March 31st, while sitting on a sofa on State Street they decided to get married the next night instead of waiting. It was the depression times and they couldn't have a wedding anyway so they went up and asked Doris and Ralph to stand up with them.
Fred picked Sara up at noon on their wedding day to get license (they didn't have a three day waiting period then.) They stopped after and got Sara her wedding ring, a white gold ring. They were married by Fred's grandmother Berry's brother (Fred's Great Uncle Leslie Lincoln.) Fred's great uncle's wife (his great-aunt) played the organ. They weree married at 8PM. After the wedding they stayed the night at Sara's Dad's house in Sara's room. they told her day they were married. Fred left at 4AM the next day to take his mother and brother to Baltimore so that his brother Dan could get his eyes checked. sara went to work as usual and didn't say anything about getting married.. Fred didn't come back from Baltimore until that Thursday.
