Abel was born on April 28th, 1761 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT.1 Abel's father was George Deforest and his mother was Esther Nichols. He had a brother named William. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 67 on August 23rd, 1828 in Unadilla, Otsego, NY.General Notes
