  He died at the age of 79 on September 9th, 1877 in Whittlesey Workhouse. He was buried in Buried in joint grave with wife, Mary Ann Fovargue, in the graveyard of the Church of the Holy trinity, Coates. Headstone in good condition in Spring 2005.²⁵
