- Martha Beard died on Monday 10th January at 46 Western Road 2 days after celebrating her 44th wedding anniversary. Sh was also know as Patty. She had been in poor health for some years.
Born in Bermondsey, Mrs File with her husband came to Bexhill in 1917. They spent 3 years in Canada returning in 1923 when Mr File opened business in Western Road as a bootmaker.
Survived by William, Doris, Jessie, Elsie and 11 grandchildren.
For over 40 years Mrs File was a member of the Christadelphians and the funeral service in cemetary chapel on Wednesday was conducted by Mr Gordon Ramsden of Sydenham, London.
Martha was living at 99 Tewkesbury Road, Tottenham at 1881 Census with parents Charles and Maria, borthers and sisters Eleanor, Frederick, Henry, Jessie, Lawrence, Maria, William
