Walter Batsford

Walter was born in 1874 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.¹ He died at the age of 82 on January 14th, 1956 in Hammersmith, London.¹

  Walter became a Freemason in 1918. He was initiated into the St Ann's Lodge No. 3691 in London Province, on 10 October of that year; was passed on 14 November 1918; and was "raised" on 9 January 1919. He resigned from St Ann's on 19 September 1929. Meanwhile, he joined the Mount Edgcumbe Lodge No. 1446 on 12 February 1921, and remained a member until his death on 13 January 1956. St Ann's Lodge met at Beales Assembly Rooms, Holloway Road until 1921 and then at the Hotel Cecil in The Strand until 1929. Mount Edgcumbe Lodge met at the Holborn Restaurant, Holborn throughout the period of Walter's membership
