Diego Fernando was born on Febrero 13th, 1981.  Diego Fernando's father is Edgardo Enrique Fiant Monzón and his mother is Estela  Noemí Ferreyra Gonzalez.  His paternal grandparents were Edgardo Bernardino Fiant Metraillet and Victorina Ana Monzón Gauna; his maternal grandparents were  Ramón Celestino Ferreyra and  Felipa Gonzalez.  He is the second of four children.  He has two brothers and a sister, named Edgardo Ramón, Marcelo Jesús and Analía Elisabet.
