Darío José was born on Septiembre 5th, 1954.  Darío José's father was José María Diaz Gonzalez and his mother was Elza Francisca Fiant Cragnolini.  His paternal grandparents were Lucio Diaz and Victoria Gonzalez; his maternal grandparents were  Juan Fernando Fiant Imhoff and  Luisa Dolores Cragnolini Bersano.  He is the youngest of two children.  He had a sister named Elza Raquel.
