  • Assunta P. Rao, 93, of Lennon Street died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late John Rao Sr.
    
    Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Benedetto and Josephine (Rossi) Pelosi.
    
    She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church.
    
    She leaves two daughters, Lee A. Paolino of Warren and Josephine Murchelano of West Falmouth, Mass.; three sons, John Rao Jr., Judge Carmine A. Rao of the Workers Compensation Court and Raymond G. Rao, all of Providence; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    
    The funeral will be tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. from Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
