Ausborn II), and one male 40-50 (b 1790-1800, Ausborn I), plus one female 0-5 (b 1835-1840, Sarah E.), one 5-10 (b 1830-1835, Celia M.), one 10-15 (b 1825-1830, Melissa), one 15-20 (b 1820-1825, unknown dtr), one 40-50 (b 1790-1800, Elizabeth) and one 70-80.(b 1770-1780, probably Ausborn or Elizabeth's mother).  St. Clair Cty has four other HOOD heads of h/hold:  Burwell, James, Robert, and Rowland.  AL has a total of 45 HOOD h/holds at this date.

    1830 US Census (officially Jun 1), residing in St. Clair Cty, AL, head of h/hold is Osborn HOOD, male-female 01001-11001, thus one male 5-10 (b 1820-1825, prob. Ausborn II), one 20-30 (b 1820-1830, Ausborn I), one female 0-5 (b 1825-1830), one 5-10 (b 1830-1835), and one 20-30 (b 1820-1830, Elizabeth).  Living next door is possibly Ausburn's father, John HOOD 000000001-0001001001, thus one male 60-70 (b 1760-1770, John), one female 15-20 (b 1810-1815), one 40-50 (b 1780-1790) and one 70-80 (b 1750-1760).  At this date, St. Clair Cty contains two other HOOD h/holds:  Austin 0010101-000001 (thus Austin 40-50, wife 30-40, two male children) and Robert 112001-220101 (thus Robert 30-40, wife 30-40, four sons, five daughters).  There were 17 other HOOD families in AL at this date.

    1820 (officially Aug 7) census record for half of the counties in AL were lost.  Extant records include 44 heads of h/hold named John HOOD, mostly in New England, with none indexed in AL (see note above) and two in GA:  one in Capt John Cochrans District,,Columbia,,GA (20001, thus John 45 or older with two sons 0-10 b. 1810-1820))  and another in Wilkes Cty, GA (record) very difficult to read.
    
    Delores Young to CMB 6/06:
    I am 100% certain that Franklin Monroe Hood was my great grandfather.  My father was born in Lawrence county in 1905.  He remembered his grandfather well because he lived near him while he was growing up.  Franklin   Monroe
    didn't die until 1941.  My father didn't remember W.P. of course, (he died
    in 1908) but he did remember his second wife, Elnora.  She didn't die
    until 1928.  Elnora was a first cousin to Unissa.  They all lived in St. Clair
    county at one time.  Elnora raised Unissa's five children along with 12
    of her own.  All of W.P.'s children, grand children, great grandchildren
    etc were born and raised in Lawrence county.  They all lived in and around
    Moulton.  Even I, a great grandchild, was born in Lawrence county.  I
    was probably fortunate to have been born to older parents.  My father was
    41 when I was born.  My mother was in her mid 30's.  I also have several records including W.P.'s service record and pension file along with newspaper articles marriage certificates for both Unissa and
    W.P. family history articles, land records and things of that nature that
    connect Franklin and W.P.  Most of the older Hoods are buried in the same
    cemetery in Moulton.
    
    I don't have a record of Unissa Margie Brothers Hood's death certificate.  I
    went to St. Clair county and spent the day trying to find it to no avail.
    
    I got my information on Elizabeth Quinn from the Elnora Brothers line.  One
    of W.P. and Elnora's grandchildren traced the Brothers line.  According
    to my notes, the estate records of Elizabeth's father names Osborn
    (Ausborn) Hood, not Austin, as Elizabeth's husband.  I will continue to try to documenting Ausborn and William P.
