A message on Genforum from a David McClements of Alaska, left in 2000 says: "My GreatGrandfather was Robert McClamont who married Martha Nichol at Coleraine, County Londonderry, N.I., on 28 May, 1860. The family moved to Canada in the 19th century and after living for a while in Ontario, they migrated westward to Brandon, MB. My Grandfather was David McClement who died at Langbank, SK in about 1960. I would appreciate any information on family members in Canada, Ireland, or wherever." I was unable to contact this man as the email address bounced.
This cannot be the same Robert from Altibrian/Bratwell as the one married to Sarah Jane McClamon as both couples have a child baptised on the same day. At a guess, I would say this man is a son of the 1802 Samuel Clemens - who may also have had a son called William.
Living in Bratwell at the time of the birth of his son, William John, in 1871, so he must have emigrated after that time.
A Robert McLamont witnessed the marriage of Eliza McLamont to John Purdy in 1863 and her father was Samuel McLamont, so this man's father may also be Samuel McLamont.
