I now know his name was Edward, from his son's marriage certificate in Finvoy Church of Ireland Church and that he was a farmer but I do not know where came from as his son was a policeman, with a residence in Ballymena which was probably the police barracks.
His son's police record states that he (his son) was born in Monaghan.
From BB:
There is only one Edward Mackey(b c. 1800) that has been documented from Monaghan that I have found just googling and on familysearch.org. He is variously located at Caviss and Glen, Monaghan. His sisters were, however, born in (Enniskillen) Derryraghan in Tyrone...so the family would have been moving northward - if that means anything. Edward, himself, died at sea in 1836 but did marry an Ann Taylor abt. 1826 whose descendants give this information. Edward's parents were John & Jane Mackey. Edward and Ann Taylor had Mary Jane Mackey (1827-d 1888 in Salt Lake City)
I have also added more on Edward (Sergeant) Mackey at the bottom from another website who claims he may have been married twice and Ann Taylor, died in India in 1836. His other wife was Mary McGrath (1805-1905) by whom he had a son William John Mackey

In fact, Drumborisk id full of Mackeys; Hugh, John, Edward and Edward Jr share Plots 6, 7, 8 and 10, totalling about 30 acres. The Edwards hold Plots 7 and 8A & 8B.
And Drumborisk IS close to the town of Cootehill, though Cootehill is actually in County Cavan. It is also adjacent to Glen, which is mentioned on both of the trees above. I see nothing like Caviss.
And Doohat is immediately north of Drumborisk so the Edward Mackey from there is probably all part of the same clan.
There are no houses on Plots 7 and 8A78B now.
