  You have made my day! So pleased to find Gordon relatives.
  My great grandmother was born Margaret Jane Gordon in Adelaide South Australia in 1855. Her parents were George Gordon (Labourer) and Maria Kidd.
  Siblings are
  Catherine no record of birth yet...but was a Spinster
  Margaret Jane 1855 in Adelaide S A (maybe the same person as below)
  Margaret Sarah 16th May 1855 in South Australia
  Thomas George 1859 in Forest Creek Victoria
  Robert James 1864 Gisborne Victoria
  Anna Maria 1867 in Melbourne Victoria
  Ruth Elizabeth 1871 in Boll Victoria.
  They were living at Riddells Creek in Victoria when I assume my Great Grandparents met and then married at Sandhurst(Bendigo) in 1874.
  Margaret Jane married John Johnston and farmed at Bonn near Rochester Victoria until retirement when they moved into Rochester.......................

  BG: Good Lord!!!!!!!!  He was 50 when he married an 18 year old?!!!   have heard of many big age gaps, including my great grandparents where she was 17 years older than he.... but 50 and 18!!  I am surprised he wasn't arrested.  I wonder what George and Mariah thought of that!  He was older than Maria!
  And yes, tracing him would not be easy as he gives his address as Belfast.  No-one came from Belfast, that was just a place someone passed through, if you get my meaning.  If he was born there, his father probably wasn't but it will be impossible to find out just where the family did originate.  So, I would leave John Johnstone alone for a while.
