• Death Notes

  He died before 1869 because his wife was a widow at death.  Nothing found in Wills Calendars 1858 onwards.  (What wife?  I have clearly moved his wife!)
  
  He is scored out of the GVRBs in 1886, replaced by Mary Jane Gordon.
  
  

• General Notes

  Mentioned as the father of Robert Gordon of Lislea in 1st Kilrea Presbyterian Church marriage records, he is given as a farmer.
  
  He might be the Robert Gordon who is mentioned in the 1826 Tithe Applotment Books, holding Plot 58 and paying seventeen shillings and eight pence except that he is likely to be a bit too young.  If his wife was born in 1794, it seems likely that he was born circa 1790, which would make him only 36 at this time.
  
  
  He might be one of the three Robert Gordons who are mentioned in the 1831 Census, living in Houses 32, 73 and 74, except that he is likely to be a bit too young.
  
  Robert Gordon Snr held Plot 8 of 15/2/20 arps in Lislea in the Griffiths Valuation of 1858.  He lived in House 8a and Robert Gordon Jr lived in Hse 8b.  This is the area known as Craig Quarter.
  
  GVRBs
  - Robert Gordon Snr is scored out of Plot 8 and replaced by Mary Jane Gordon in 1886.  Mary Jane Gordon may be his daughter-in-law.
  - Mary Jane is scored out of Plot 8 in 1918, and replaced with Robert John Gordon, which fits with the will of Mary Jane Gordon, whose farm went to Robert John Gordon when she died in 1915.  Robert John Gordon remains there until the end of the books in 1929.
