There is something very odd here. "Johnston Gordon", aged 26, single, lives with his mother, Ann, in the 1901 Census. And "William Johnston", aged 39, single, lives with his mother, Nancy, in the 1911 Census. But in 1906 and 1909, Eveline Amelia Gordon was born to William Johnston Gordon and Annie Elizabeth Gordon, formerly Gamble and in 1909 Annie Ethel Gordon was born to Johnston Gordon and Annie Elizabeth Gordon, formerly Gamble. However, Annie Elizabeth Gordon, married 5 years with 2/2 children alive, Eveline Amelia and Annie Ethel Gordon, all live with Annie Elizabeth's mother, ???? Gamble in Lislea in the 1911 Census, no sign of William Johnston. He must have left his wife, gone back to his mother, amd given his staus as single. I have not been able to find a marriage for William Johnston Gordon and Annie Elizabeth Gamble. William Johnston Gordon is killed in a bicycle accident in Kilrea in 1919. In his will, the original probate goes to Elizabeth Goirdon in 1920 but there is another probate decision in 1921 and probate goes to Robert Gordon, again suggesting an estrangement between William Johnston Gordon and Annie Elizabeth Gamble Gordon.
