Source: In email of 25/06/07, Maureen Line says, "John Brewster born 1819 married to Mary and made their home in Ballyvenox Township in parish of Macosquin. Son Thomas born around 1839 or 1841 census which was confirmed when Thomas had to prove his age for his pension in 1901." There are no Brewsters in the 1831 census so it seems likely that Maureen is right when she says he made his home there as opposed to being from there. The GV shows only a James Brewster in Ballyvennox, so perhaps John and Mary had another son apart from Thomas.
BB: Thought you might be interested in this OAP data. It does not seem to agree with what was sent to you by Maureen. It appears that a Thomas Brewster was looking for parents named James and Mary and NOT John and Mary in Ballyvennox/Ballyvenna:
