DOCTOR’S STRESS OF WORK
A MOTORING INCIDENT
A charge against Dr. Edward Bruce Low, 33, of driving a motor-car while under the influence of drink was withdrawn at Brighton on Thursday and a fine of £3 imposed for driving without due care and attention.
Mr. J. G. Drew, solicitor, said the prosecution had been informed that at the time of the occurrence Dr. Low was suffering from a very great stress of overwork. As a resident medical officer of the Steyning Infirmary he worked single-handed and had been on duty night and day for the last nine months. That was the first day he had been able to take any leave.
