Johnson Funeral Livestream

Passed away in Oakville, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 91 on December 13th, 2020. Nothing was more important to Ross than his family. He was an insurance icon, a bold leader and a true friend. Born in Calgary, he always considered himself a true “westerner” and was a cowboy in the old school sense. He graduated from UBC and became a sales agent with New York Life Insurance Company where he rose to the position of Canadian Resident Vice President. He went on to become the President and Chief Executive Officer of National Life of Canada and retired as President, Canadian Operations of Prudential Insurance Company of America. He then began a new career as a management consultant and was still going into the office at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife of 49 years Muriel (Fairley) and daughter Judy. He was the cherished father of Kim, Grant (Jennifer) and Scott (Kristy). Loving “Stanley” to grandchildren Chris (Sarah) Jonathan (Erica) Colleen (Greg) Ross (Ali), Jasmin, Paige, Sydney, and Marshall. Great-grandfather to Quinne, Cleo, Niko and Carson. Special brother-in-law of Grant Fairley, Edmonton. He leaves his devoted Partner Sandra Roy who he shared 20 happy years with.
While Covid currently prevents our gathering to mourn his loss and celebrate his life, wherever you are, we hope you will join us by remembering him with a smile and a memory of time spent together.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to his memory to Canadian Cancer Society
