Dorothy C. McLeish, age 81, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso. Born at Chicago, IL June 2, 1920, daughter of the late Bernhardt and Amelia (Thompson) Benson.
Former secretary for the Beef Industry Council of Chicago with 18 years of service, member of the Order of Eastern Star Valparaiso #164 OES, volunteer for the Women's Lutheran Group and Pines Village Retirement Center, Valparaiso. Survived by two grandsons, Scott and Troy McLeish, a granddaughter, Allison McLeish and daughter in Iowa, Jennifer McLeish, all of Valparaiso, sister, Rose Jacobsen of California. Preceded in death by her husband John G.McLeish and son John A. McLeish.
Visitation Friday, 2 to 8 p.m.at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell, Valparaiso with an Order of Eastern Star service at 5:30 p.m. and funeral service at 6 p.m. Rev. L. Vajda officiating. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park., IL. Family wishes memorials to the American Cancer Society.
