Services will he held in Grace Presbyterian church Friday at 2 p.m. for John Swanson, 80, 1224 15th Ave. W., who died suddenly Tuesday in Grace Presbyterian church while attending a meeting of the session. Rev. F. S. Morley will officiate and burial will be in Union cemetery. Jacques' funeral home is in charge.
Born in Murkle. Caithness, Scotland, Mr Swanson came to Calgary in 1907. He had been senior elder of Grace Presbyterian church, and an elder since 1911. A daughter, Mary Winnifred, and a son, Andrew, died in Calgary several years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, one daughter Mrs. E. R. Upton, Calgary; two sons, William L., Calgary, and James S., Cloverdale, B.C.; one brother and two sisters in Scotland, six grandchildren.
