John Douglas Rennie (1888-1971), aviation designer

Educated at Glasgow Academy and University.
Apprenticed at William Beardmore and Co
WWI Served in the R.N.A.S. and R.A.F.,
1918 Listed as a designer working at Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.[1]
Held various Air Department appointments at the Admiralty and Air Ministry
Chief Technical Officer, Seaplane Experimental Station, Felixstowe
Technical Assistant, Royal Aircraft Factory, Farnborough
Chief seaplane designer to the Blackburn Aeroplane and Motor Co., Ltd.;
Designer of the Iris flying boats, and the monoplane flying boat Sydney
