Born 5 Hamilton Street, Paisley, son of James (ship stoker) deceased) & Janet Kerr Boyle (remarried to Daniel R. Barr), resident of 3 Williamsburgh, Paisley. Educated Williamsburgh School & member of Greenlaw Parish Church also Alexander Wilson Lodge of Oddfellows. Formerly employed with Bow, McLachlan & Co. Mobilised, Renfrewshire R.E., on the outbreak of war, serving in Egypt & France, with 406th Field Coy. He was the third in the household to fall. (step-brother Corporal John H. Barr).(Step-Brother of Daniel Robertson Barr and H. Barr)
Died of wounds 23rd April 1918 aged 22 ~ Buried Pernes British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
