Edward J. Nejman, 73, of Whitmyer Dr., died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at home after a short illness. Ed was born in Schenectady, the son of Rose Ponzillo Nejman and the late Edward P. Nejman. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was also a graduate of the College of St. Rose. He worked at the General Electric Co. as a project manager, he retired in 1998 with 36 years of service. Ed will be remembered as a die-hard fisherman, especially enjoying surf casting from a beach in Nantucket. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, and he had a great propensity for a challenging repair of machinery and many things that crossed his path. Ed is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betsy Campbell Nejman; his mother, Rose Nejman of Schenectady; three children, Kimberly Nejman of Niskayuna, Lisa (John) Reilly of Queensbury, and Eric Nejman (Kathy Berning) of Schenectady; two stepchildren, Matthew Meola of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Amanda (Dennis) Romero of Gaithersburg, MD; a sister, Joan (Ken) Robitaille of Niskayuna; a sister-in-law, Ruth Nejman of Niskayuna; four grandchildren, Jessica and Nicole Reilly, and Paige and Matthew Romero; and nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his brother, Steve Nejman. Funeral service on Thursday morning at 10 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 to 10 at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, with military honors.
