FROST, Robert Swanson – died in Victoria on May 29th in his 49th year. Predeceased by his mother, Joyce Shirley Frost and brother, Michael (Donna). Rob is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Carly and Jocelyn; son, Cameron; father, Robert J. Frost; and sister, Barbara (Ian) Fraser. Born in Edmonton in August 1954, Rob lived in England, Ghana West Africa, Victoria, Vancouver, Lethbridge, London, Moncton and Toronto. He attended The University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and Seneca College in Toronto. Rob was employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia and Sears before joining the Department of National Defence Fire Department in 1984 where he was serving at a Lieutenant at the time of his death.
Rob was thoroughly committed to his profession and was a true member of the brotherhood of firefighters. Rob loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting and spending time at Spider Lake. Rob had a love of military history and was an amateur authority on military memorabilia .
A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu, donations may be made in Rob’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. of Canada or to the BC Wildlife Federation. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com
