JOHN STENHOUSE, WELL KNOWN IN DRUMHELLER, DIES AT AGE OF 52 DRUMHELLER, April 29-- -(Special) -The passing of John Stenhouse, a most popular resident of Drumheller, came as a great shock to his many friends Thursday.
He succumbed to an attack of pleurisy complicated with pneumonia in. the local hospital after a week's illness. The late Mr. Stenhouse. who came to Drumheller 12 years ago was born in Bathgate, 52 years ago, --- became the staunch friend of many through his activities in community work, and was responsible for the creation of junior football team in 1923 and 1924.
He had been an active member of the Drumheller Football club and was a past president of St. Andrew's society. In addition he was An associate member of the Canadian Legion and a member of the Masonic order. Until two years Ago he was employed at the Elgin mine, and since then he was employed as engineer at the Drumheller hospital. In addition to his son, George, of this city, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. George Stenhouse Sr., four sisters, Mrs. H. Carson. Saskatoon; Mrs. A. Chapman, Calgary; Mrs. Dave Dickson, Drumheller; Mrs. William Tait. Detroit: and four brothers, William, Calgary; George, Bathgate, Scotland: Harry, Calgary; and James, Drumheller.
Funeral services will be held at Knox United church 011 next at 2:15. Rev. H. D. will officiate at the church, and officers and members of Symbol lodge No 93, A.F. and A.M., will conduct their last rites at graveside.
