  • I have 3 Joseph Marshalls.  I will give you what I have.  I hope that you can help me. 
    
    Let me correct a mistake I made.  I said the Rev. War Vet. Joseph was married to Lovica English.  Her name was Lovica EDWARDS.

In 1810 William Ward was listed in Onandaga County, NY page 73 with 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 26-45; or in Montgomery County, NY with 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 16-45; In 1830, PA Census William W. Ward was listed with 2 M 5-10, 1 M 20-30, 1 M 30-40, and 1 M 40-50, 1 F 0-5, 2 F 10-15, 1 F 15-20 and 1 F 40-50.
    
    1.  Joseph Marshall, Jr. born ca 1800 VT.  married Matilda Ward, born ca 1804, NY d/o William W. and Lovisa (Louisa) ____ Ward.
    !CENSUS: 1850 Erie County, PA, Millcreek Township, Page 263, Line 14, DW 128, Fam 145; 1870 Erie County, PA, Springfield Townshipo, Page 25, line 25, DW 232 Fam 224; Joseph was living with his daughter Mary J. and family. He was listed as 70 years old, born in New York. His occupation was that of a broom maker.
    
    In 1800, There was Joseph Marshall in Poultney, Rutland, VT, who had 2 males of 16 years and upwards, 2 white males under 16, and 2 white females.   In 1800, there was another Joseph Marshall  living in Huntington, Chittenden County, VT  who had 1 free white male 16 and under 26, 1 free white females under 10 years of age, and 1 free white female, 26 and under 45.
    
    Joseph and Matilda had the following children in 1850 census:  Mary J., 19; Roxana, 15; Harriet, 13; Julia A., 11; Chas. 3? (male), James C. 3, Emily C. Evans 3. Somewhere, I have a land record or a will that ties the above Joseph Marshall, Jr. to  Joseph Marshall Sr., below.  I cannot put my finger on it right now.
    
    2.  Joseph Marshall, Sr. Born ca 1779, RI, married ?????????, died after 1850
    
    !CENSUS: 1850, Erie County, Green Township; 1800, Chittenden County, VT, Huntington; 1820, Cayuga County, NY, Aurelius, p 51; Joseph was living with William W. and Louisa ______WARD in 1850.  in 1800 Joseph had 1 female under 10 and 1 female 26-45. In 1820 Joseph lived next to Perry Marshall. By 1840, he was in Erie Conty, PA.
    
    Joseph Marshall, Rev. War Vet. born 12 Aug 1759, Stonington, CT, married Lovica Edwards, born ca 1757, died 24 Oct 1820.  Joseph died 12 June 1844 AE 86 Years 10 M., buried North Street Cemetery, Auburn, Cayuga, NY

    Joseph MARSHALL enlisted as a Private in Col. William Richmond's Regiment, Capt. Thomas. Wells Company, Rhode Island Militia, November 1775. He served marching to Conanicut Island near "the island of Rhode Island." He was at Long Island, New Haven, and New London, CT. He was honorably discharged in November 1776. Joseph again enlisted in Jan 1777 at the town of Hopkinton in Captain Fry's Company, Col. John Toppins Regiment for a term of six months. He marched with the company to Tibertown, RI where he was stationed for and discharged. He enlisted again in August 1777 in Captin Richard Hewett's Company, Col Latimer's Regiment for a term of three months. He was living in Stonington, CT at the time. He marched with the company to Saratoga, NY where he was at the time of the capture of Gen. Burgoine. He was discharged at the end of his tour. In Mar 1779 he again entered the CT Militia commanded by Lieut. Waid Burdock marching to Tibertown where was stationed as a guard. Joseph Marshall moved to Vermont after the Revolution and then to Cayuga; County, NY living in Aurelius in 1820. He is buried in North Street Cemetery.
    
    Other Marshalls living in Aurelius, Cayuga in 1820 were  Perry, William, Moses, & Frances.  William W. Ward lived there also.  There was a Joseph Marshall living in Brutus.
