        From what I have seen so far on this list, you, F.J. Dickey, and Ron Bearden
        seem to be searching the same NEALS. You all have a John NEAL b. 8 Mar 1770
        NC.
    
        I have been looking for any connection to my NEALS but at this point I don't
        believe there is one. My NEALS came directly from Ireland to Virginia in
        1718 and 1730. Stephen NEALL jr moved to NC between 1750 and 1770 and there
        is a
        lot I don't know about him and his descendants yet. For example he had a son
        John that I know nothing about but I am now working on it. Anyway, if you
        have someone who was born in PA during this time frame, it is unlikely they
        are connected to my Steaven NEALL unless it would be a bother, sister, uncle
        or whatever.
    
        The Beaver Pond Neals of Virginia was published in 1965 and has long been
        out of print. I was fortunate to aquire a copy in the mid 1970s from the
        author's widow. This book is in many genealogy librarys but I can't remember
        which ones at the moment except I know the DAR library in Wash. D.C. has one.
    
        Steaven NEALL and wife Margaret came from Ireland to Va in 1730.
    
        children: (most of them came from Ireland to Va in 1718)
    
        Thomas b. abt 1694 Ireland (his will did not memtion a wife or children)
        Roger b. abt 1696 " m. Catherine Malone
        John b. abt 1698 " m. Margaret Remay
        Ann b. abt 1700 " m. William Marshall
        Stephen jr b. abt 1702 " m. Elizabeth ______
        David b. abt 1704 " m. Joannah ______
    
        So,
        Thomas NEALL apparently never married and died in 1736 in Amelia Co. Va.
    
        John NEALL died abt 1731 in Amelia Co.
    
        Stephen NEALL Jr moved to Rockingham Co. NC between 1750 & 1770 with at
        least three married sons:
        John NEAL - don't know what happen to him
        William NEAL - m. Lula Douglas, had at least one son named Thomas
        Douglas NEAL and remained in Rockingham Co on the "Lindsay
        Place" which is about three miles southwest of Madison.
        Most of the family lived about 2 or 3 miles away in
        Stokes Co.
        Thomas Douglas NEAL had a son William NEAL, who had a son
        John Henry NEAL, who had a son Glenn NEAL. That's all I
        know of this line.
        Thomas NEAL - had a wife named Mary and in 1790 had seven sons and two
        daughters.
    
        Roger NEALL - M. Catherine Malone and died in Amelia Co in 1750.
        children:
        John NEAL m. Martha HATCHETT.
        Stephen NEAL m. Priscilla HAWKINS
        Ann NEAL m. ???
        Mary NEAL m. John HATCHETT
        Margaret NEAL m. ??? BURKS
    
        David NEALL - m. Joannah ??? and died in Amelia Co in 1776.
        children:
        Thomas NEAL - m. Mary Ann Stokes
        Stephen NEAL - m. Nancy Ann ??. Patricia NEAL, Judge Stephen NEAL
        and I are descended from Stephen.
        William NEAL - m. Susannah Reaves
        John NEAL - m. Ann Coleman
        Roger NEAL - m. Ann HATCHETT
        Mary NEAL - m. Samuel MORGAN
        Eleanor NEAL - M. Thomas REEVES
    
        To All:
    
        I realize there are sometimes advantages to using email addresses
        rather then the list address but the problem with that is other people
        on the list could miss out on important information or possible connections.
        Since I believe it benefits us all to share, I will send all my responses
        via the NEAL list rather then email unless specifically requested otherwise.
