    James Greer m. Mary Harlan Buffington, SC before 1770 (prob. 2nd marriage for both)

    Surnames:
    Looking for information on James Greer and Mary Harlan Buffington (b.abt 1725 in Pennsylvania). Notes I have been given say that Thomas Buffington (of Pennsylvania, moved to SC) died 1768 in Turkey Creek, Edgefield, SC and that his widow, Mary Harlan Buffington, married James Greer before the estate settlement in 1770. I have also been told that Mary Buffington's son, Ezekiel Buffington, left his two young children, Mary Buffington (b. abt 1760) and Oborn Buffington (b. abt 1766) with Mary and John Greer when he went into Cherokee territory.
    
    The line I am researching is that of Ezekiel Buffington's daughter, Mary. I am hoping by finding her grandparents, Mary Buffington Greer and James Greer (step-grandfather), in SC, I might find out a little more about her story and more confirmation that the Mary Buffington I am seeking (who married Daniel Treadaway in SC) is indeed the same Mary Buffington who is the daughter of Ezekiel Buffington.
