Mary Jane  Culbertson

  • I just look under the US Gen Web for Brooke Co, WV.  Under the Brooke county Historical Society site, there is a Mary Jane Culbertson Marshall, wife of Abraham Marshall, who was born 17 Mar 1819 and died 29 Jun 1848, age 29.  I know that you already know about her.  I am sure that Abraham remarried.  Mary Jane Culbertson Marshall is buried in the Lower Burrell Cemetery (or was it Lower Buffalo) Anyway, there are a lot of other Culbertsons buried in this same cemetery.  John (13 Feb 1786 to 08 Oct 1851), Martha Adams Culbertson, consort of John, (died 15 Dec 1823, age 46 (would have been born in 1777), Sarah Jane (died 10 Jan 1807), Dr. John (died 27 Sep 1827, age 63 (would have been born in 1764), Sarah (died 23 Mar 1836, age 73 (would have been born in 1763).
    
    There are also a lot of Harveys buried in this same cemetery.
    
    So, we can place the Culbertsons and the Marshalls in Brooke Co, WV from at least 1763 up to 1848 when Mary Jane Culbertson Marshall died.
