He early adopted the Yorkish course and fought at the battle of Towton, March 29, 1461, being Knighted by Edward IV, on the field. Other honors soon followed. April 24, 1464, he was created Baron. He was appointed to bear the great seal to George Neville, Archbishop of York, in 1465. He was executed by order of Edward IV for quarreling with Pembrake and causing him to be defeated. He was executed Aug. 17, 1469, by the sheriff of Devonshire and Somerset. He left no issue by his wife Isabel. She m. Thomas Bourchier, son of Henry first, Earl of Essex.
