According to Elsie Bowman Coatney, daughter -in-law of Loransie E. Coatney, there is some question as to his correct first name. Some of the family say his name is really Younger E. Reynolds, instead of Young. His name may also be Tom.
According to Vontrece J. Miller, who gives as source - Crawford County, History Book by Clara Eno - he was hanged from the tree by the bushwhackers during the Civil War era.
