William Carlyle 
William was born in 1400 in Torthorwald Castle, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.1 He died at the age of 63 in 1463.1 General Notes
one of the Scots who escorted the 11 year old Margaret daughter of James I of Scotland to her marriage to the 13 year old Louis the Dauphin of France (who became Louis XI much later, long after she had died neglected & childless)
