‌Daniel and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on January 25th, 1829.¹   They had six sons and four daughters, named John Archibald, Hugh Washington, Angus J., Malcolm J., James Archibald, Infant, Mary Jane, Sarah Margaret, Catherine Ann and Effie Gilchrist.
