Obituary (Swanton Enterprise)
Eijah Weed Soule was born May 18th, 1827, in Otsego County, N. Y., and
died September 2d, 1895, aged 68 years, 4 months and 19 days.
His parents moved to Sandusky County, Ohio, when he was two years old. In
the autum of 1853 he moved to Huron County, being one of the pioneers. He
was married to Priscilla Huyck on Christmas, 1855, at her home in Bronson
Township, Huron County.
He served a short time in the late Civil War and was one of the "Squirrel
Hunters" of Cinicinnati. He was the father of four sons and three
daughters. He is now with his daughter Sarah in that far better world
leaving behind six children and their mother who will remember him as the
best father and husband that children and wife ever had. Mr. Soule was a
firm believer in Universalism and was one of the founders of the
Universalism church in Norwalk.
He was a resident of Swanton Township, Lucas County, Ohio., for the last
fifteen years.
Funeral services were held at the home of the departed. A large circle of
friends and neighbors were present with their sympathy for the bereft.
