Thomas Jones (age 36 yrs) came to New England in 1638 with his wife
Anne and his 4 children. He was a tailor from Caversham, Oxfordshire
His son - Abraham JOnes of Hull, sold land in Hingham in 1658 to
Daniel Cushing (Suffolk Co Deeed iv 129) This land was orginally
grangted by the town to Samuel Ward in 1637. It was then
transferred to Thomas Jones in 1638 (Suffolk Co. Deeds iv 279)
Abraham had 7 sons in 1657: Benjamin, Thomas, Abraham, Josiah,
Joseph, John, Ephraim (History of Hingham ii386)
Robert Jones appeared in Hingham in 1637 - a probable relative of Thomas - as he was from the same part of England
04 Dec 1646 "Elizabeth Curtes and Jane Curtes grant unto Robert
Jones of Hingham theire Father in Law a lre of Attur(7) to aske
and C; of the executo of the last will and C of Jane Alexand (7)
late of Reading in Oxfordshire deceased theire severall and
