Matildis was born about 1310 in Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland.  Matildis' father was Robert Bruce and her mother was Elizabeth (Ellen) De Burgh.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert De Bruce and Marjorie (Margaret) UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Richard 'The Red' De Burgh and Margaret De Burgh. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, David II, Maud Princess and Margaret. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Nigel, Walter, Thomas, Marjorie, Margaret, Elizabeth and Christina.  She died on July 12th, 1353 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  She was buried in Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland.

‌Matildis and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony about 1330 in Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland.  They had three daughters named Joan, Catherine and Daughter.
