‌Bernard III and Sophia were married in a religious ceremony before May 4th, 1240.  They had five sons and five daughters, named Herman III, Bernard IV, Gerard, Egbert, Dietrich, Hedwig, Adelaide, Agnes, Elisabeth and Sophie.
