John "of Gaunt" was born in March 1340 in Abbaye de St Bav, Ghent, Flandre-Oriental, Belgium.  He died at the age of 58 on February 3rd, 1399 in Leicester Castle, Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  He was buried on March 15th, 1399 in St Paul's Cathed, London, Middlesex, England.
