Hope Ridgway a signer of the Dec of Independence from S.C. may have been
his son and there may be one add. Child for a total of eight.
Samuel and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on November 2nd, 1739. They had five sons and a daughter, named James, William, Richard, John, Thomas and Rosamond.

William was born on June 21st, 1746. He died at the age of 70 on September 2nd, 1816.
