Levi was born in 1844 in Green Co.,Kentucky. Levi's father was William Gravatt and his mother was Louisa Skaggs. His paternal grandparents are Levy C. Gravatt and Sarah Salsman; his maternal grandfather was William Squire Skaggs and his maternal grandmother is Mary Pierce. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William M., Edward, Mary, Sarah and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 29 on April 4th, 1873 in Larue Co.,Kentucky.-
