Ethel Fern was born on January 30th, 1895 in Crestine,Kansas. She died at the age of 27 on August 17th, 1922 in Lowell,Kansas.
General Notes
One afternoon a hive of bees swarmed and settled in a tree near the Dobkins home. James Dobkins, decided to move the swarm and Ethel went out to help him. The bees suddenly attacked her. She received hundreds of stings. Septicemia, they called it "Blood poisoning" in those days, developed. None of the doctors in the area knew how to treat this disorder. Story told by John S. Roach.
