Mildred Ruth was born on August 3rd, 1918. Mildred Ruth's father was William Allen Daniel and her mother was Sarah Ritha Harrison. Her paternal grandparents were William Simmons Daniel and Permintia Wesley Stewart; her maternal grandparents are John F. Harrison and Isabella C. Lewis. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Willie Perry, Ethel Whittle, Ollie Junice, Jasper Jay, Tommy Binford, Nellie Estell, Jessie Mae and Era Lucille. She is the second youngest of the nine children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Allen Kelly, Ettie Bulah and Cora Lee.-
