‌James Berton and Julia Ann were married in a religious ceremony on December 24th, 1865 in Mt. Sterling, Brown Co., Illinois.  They have seven sons and four daughters, named James Alfred, William Anson, Walter J., George, Eddie A., Stephen, John, Martha J., Mary Elizabeth, Margaret Anna and Stella Belle.
