Adams, Martin, of Hempstead County in the State of Arkansas, Last Will and Testament, written 16 December 1884 and witnessed by F M Urrey, W J Russell and C A Bridewell. He stated his occupation as farmer. He bequeathed the following heirs one dollar earh: daughter Jane Pickard, son George Washington Adams, daughter Martha Lewis Pickard, grandchildren Gertrude, Adelaide and Edna (children of deceased son Martin Franklin Adams), daughter Clarinda Lillian Adams and daughter Arle Ann Sullivan. To son William Adams he bequeathed his residence and lands containing 120 acres, and the remains of all personal property, with the understanding that "During the period of my natural life, and that of my wife Clarinda, he shall maintain, support, comfort and care for us, giving unto us good and sufficient food and clothing, to attend us in health and sickness, provide compentent medical attention and nursing. That he shall keep place in repair and pay all taxes as they become due." He named his son William Adams, Executor of his will. 1 Feb 1886 the will of Martin Adams was brought before R F Roberson, County Judge. F M Urrey and C A Bridewell appeared and gave affidavits. The will was filed and recorded in Will Book C, pages 360, 361, 362 and 363. H J Trimble, Clerk.
