Peter was most likely born in Germany (Palatinate) where h e married Catherine MATHIAS the daughter of Joseph MATTHIES . Peter and Catherine lived in Becherbach, Pfalz, Germany w here Margaret was born according to the church record at th e First Moravian Church, York, PA. How long they lived her e before this time is not known. They most likely stayed he re until they left for America in 1739. In the early part o f 1739 Peter and his family most likely traveled down the R hine to Rotterdam. Here they boarded the Ship Samuel whic h sailed for Deal, England where Commadore Hugh PERCY woul d obtain approval to go to America. We do not know how lon g this took but we know they arrived in Philadelphia, PA i n August 1739 and Peter took the usual Oaths on August 27 , 1739. The remaining children, Peter, Jr; Nicklaus and Phi lip were born in Pennsylvania.
His widow remarried in 1740 or 1749 (Reg. Christs Luthera n Church,York,York Co see also York Co, PA Wills, C,139 e t seq. the will of Conrad Ammon; York Co,PA Administratio n Bonds, A, 51) (the Bond for Peter Mohr's estate, which wa s not filed until 4/Apr/1752 and although this bond was i n the penal sum of 500 pds no account of the estate was eve r rendered). Comparison of the will of Conrad Ammon with ot her records shows that the person who drew up the will conf used some of the names of legatees. Will Probated 4/Apr/175 2, York Co, PA

According to Keith Dull's Early German Settlers of York Co. , Pa. he lists Peter as being born at Deux Ponts in the Pal atinate area in Germany.
